Beta double without neutrinos: predicted but not found

From the beginning, numerous laboratories have been investigating the Big Bang and the «where the antimatter went.» According to the standard model of physics, at the time of the Big Bang the same amount of matter as antimatter should have been produced and both would have been eliminated. But obviously, it is not what happened, creating a universe formed by matter.

The answer could be in neutrinos, there are currently several laboratories in the world that try to show that neutrinos could behave like a Majorana particle. If that were so, the particle would undergo double beta decay without neutrino emission. Two neutrons of an atomic nucleus would transform into two protons and emit two electrons. A very rare and difficult process to capture. At the moment the GERDA experiment has not been able to reproduce this phenomenon but will continue to try it with some more precise measurements.

The other laboratories also continue with the experiment, each with their techniques but with hopes of finding that double beta disintegration.
